        Zelensky confirms strike on oil infrastructure near St. Petersburg

        President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that overnight on July 4, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck port oil infrastructure near St. Petersburg.

        According to Zelensky, Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions” against Russia for its war worked near St. Petersburg.

        The president said Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck port oil infrastructure that “earns money for Russia’s war”.

        He also said there were hits in Kronstadt. Zelensky described it as “an important military target”.

        The distance from Ukraine’s state border to the targets hit is more than 850 kilometers.

        “I thank everyone who ensures Ukraine’s precision and carries out our plan of long-range sanctions”, Zelensky said.

        Earlier, ASTRA, citing OSINT analysis, reported that a fire broke out at the territory of JSC “Petersburg Oil Terminal” in St. Petersburg amid a drone attack. According to the outlet, the terminal is located near the Big Port of St. Petersburg and is used to transship oil and petroleum products between rail, pipeline and maritime transport.

        Russian authorities reported a massive drone attack. The governor of Leningrad region claimed that dozens of drones had allegedly been shot down, while the governor of St. Petersburg urged residents to stay indoors until the threat was lifted.
