        Major Oil Refinery, Airfield and Drone Launch Site Hit in Russia

        On the night of August 30, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of important targets on Russian territory. The targets included the Kirishi oil refinery, a storage and launch site for attack drones in Millerovo, and the Yeysk airfield.

        The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.

        The Kirishi oil refinery in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad region, was hit. A fire broke out on the territory of the facility following the strike.

        According to the General Staff, the Kirishi refinery is Russia’s second-largest oil refinery by capacity and the largest in the northwestern part of the country. Its processing capacity is about 20 million tonnes of crude oil per year.

        The facility produces motor fuel, aviation fuel, diesel and other petroleum products, and is also involved in supplying the needs of the Russian armed forces.

        In Millerovo, Rostov region, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a site used for the storage, preparation and launch of attack drones. A fire was also reported at the facility.

        In addition, the Yeysk airfield in the city of Yeysk, Krasnodar region, was hit. A fire broke out on the airfield grounds following the strike.

        The extent of the damage is being assessed.
