On November 2, the Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized another Russian heavy flamethrower system. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost 138 systems in this category.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia’s heavy flamethrower systems include the TOS-1 “Buratino,” TOS-1A “Solntsepyok,” TOS-2 “Tosochka,” and TOS-3 “Drakon.”

These systems use thermobaric or incendiary munitions that generate a powerful blast wave and high temperatures over a large area.

Heavy flamethrower systems are designed to strike personnel, shelters, fortifications, and lightly armored vehicles.

The General Staff noted that the destruction of such systems reduces the firepower available to Russian forces during assaults on Ukrainian positions.
