On November 3, Ukraine is facing one of the largest Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. New damage has further complicated the situation in the power system, with emergency electricity outages introduced in Kyiv and several regions.

        This was reported by Ukrenergo.

According to the company, the attack on energy infrastructure has been ongoing since the night. Over the past 24 hours alone, Russian forces deliberately struck energy facilities more than 20 times.

Ukrenergo said an unprecedented number of weapons had been used, causing significant damage to energy infrastructure.

As a result of the strikes, emergency power cuts have been introduced in several regions, including Kyiv.

Thousands of energy workers have been working since the night to eliminate the consequences of the attacks and restore electricity supplies. Critical infrastructure facilities will be reconnected first.

Ukrenergo said all services are working in close coordination to stabilize the situation in the power system as quickly as possible.

Earlier, “Glavnoe in Ukraine” reported that a massive missile and drone attack on the energy sector on November 3 damaged facilities in ten regions, while three DTEK thermal power plants stopped generating electricity after sustaining extensive damage.

Power plants, combined heat and power plants, and transmission and distribution substations came under attack. Due to equipment damage, emergency outages were introduced in Kyiv and several regions, while consumption restrictions were imposed across most of the country.
