Thirty-eight people were killed and 20 others injured, including two children, in the village of Mila in Kyiv region as a result of a Russian strike and subsequent detonation. Four people are still considered missing, and the search for them continues.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this.
According to him, work to eliminate the consequences of the strike in Mila is continuing without interruption. Rescuers have already managed to extinguish most of the fires.
Pyrotechnic units of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service are working at the site around the clock, detecting and neutralizing explosive objects. Zelenskyy noted that the scale of contamination in the area is significant, so the work will continue for as long as necessary.
The president also said that in recent days Kyiv and other regions have experienced numerous air raid alerts due to Russian jet-powered drones. According to him, there have been strikes on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
Zelenskyy said that this week alone, Russian forces used nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs and 31 missiles of various types against Ukraine, including a North Korean ballistic missile.
Frontline and border communities are under attack almost around the clock, including Nikopol, Kramatorsk and Kherson, as well as settlements in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Sumy regions.
The president stressed that strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and protection against Russian strikes remains a priority.
