Russian state media claimed that a Ukrainian pilot had allegedly surrendered to the aggressor’s forces in the Kursk region. However, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied this information, calling it another disinformation.

On 29 December, the Russian news agency TASS reported that a Ukrainian pilot named Volodymyr Popovych had allegedly surrendered to the Russians in the Kursk region. However, the Ukrainian Air Force said this was a fake report.

‘This is another manipulation. Although cases of capturing our military who served in the Air Force unfortunately occur, the information that the pilot surrendered is false. Our pilots continue to perform tasks in defence of Ukraine,’ the military command commented.

The Air Force added that the video and reports of interrogations of Ukrainian prisoners are part of Russia’s information warfare.
