Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that 2025 promises to be a better year for Ukraine than 2024. According to him, there are specific reasons for optimism.

During the telethon, Budanov noted that at the end of 2023, he said that 2024 would be a difficult year for Ukraine. But he has more hope for 2025, and he believes that it will be a year that will bring many positive changes.

“If I formulate the same question about 2025, I am much more optimistic. 2025 will definitely be better than this year. There are specific reasons for this. And I hope that in 2025 we will see a lot of good events that will ultimately bring us everything we are waiting for,” Budanov said.

The GUR chief also added that if Russia does not change its position by mid-2025, it will have to make difficult decisions that will affect the financial and economic situation in the country. However, he believes that Russia will try to avoid these decisions.

He emphasized that the peaceful resolution of the war largely depends on the actions of Ukrainians: “We believe in victory, so I am confident that we will achieve it. I propose to enter 2025 with this in mind.”
