President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law granting the right to defer mobilization to civilians who have been captured.
This is reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada in the card of law No. 12104.
The bill was approved by the Parliament on November 20 and signed by the President on December 31.
Amendments to Article 26 of the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service” allow those who have been captured by Russia to be called up for military service only with their consent.
In addition, the new law gives military personnel the right to be discharged from service in the event of the death or disappearance of their minor brothers or sisters.
