The Defense Innovation Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has tested FPV drones that are controlled via fiber optic cable. The presentation was part of a program to introduce innovations for the development of the “army of the future,” the ministry’s press service reports.
During the event, Ukrainian manufacturers presented more than ten models of drones capable of performing tasks with a payload of up to 3 kg. Demonstration flights were held with the participation of drone operators – members of the Armed Forces who will be able to use these technologies in combat.
According to the Ministry of Defense, these new drones are completing the codification process and will soon be delivered to the army.
It should be noted that the pilots of the 414th separate regiment of strike unmanned aerial systems “Birds of Magyar” are already using FPV drones controlled by fiber optics.
As reported by the regiment, this drone is an original development of the engineering service of the Climate-Team of the 414th separate regiment of the “Birds of Magyar”.
