Russian forces attacked a major logistics distribution center belonging to Epicentr in Khmelnytskyi ten times over the course of the day. As a result of the strikes and fires, around 85% of the goods stored inside were destroyed, although no employees were injured.
This was reported by Epicentr.
According to the company, five large-scale fires broke out at the complex during the day. Around 30 Russian drones were in the air, complicating firefighting efforts.
“The fire destroyed around 85% of the goods stored inside. Around three dozen drones in the sky prevented the fire from being extinguished,” the company said.
Epicentr stressed that all employees survived and no one was injured.
It was the company’s last major warehouse complex
Epicentr said that Russian forces had previously completely destroyed the company’s two largest logistics complexes — in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
After that, the distribution center in Khmelnytskyi remained effectively the company’s only major warehouse complex still operating.
It was from this facility that goods were delivered to the chain’s shopping centers.
The company said the attack resulted not only in the loss of goods, but also in serious disruption to logistics and significant financial losses.
“This is not just lost merchandise. It is destroyed logistics, enormous financial losses, and months and years of work by thousands of people,” Epicentr said.
