On January 26, presidential elections began in Belarus. According to the state-run BelTA news agency, voting will take place from 8:00 to 20:00 at 5,325 polling stations.
For those who cannot come to the polling stations due to health or other reasons, voting at home is organized upon prior application.
President Alexander Lukashenko, who has ruled the country for more than 30 years, is running in his seventh election.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has previously stated that it does not consider these elections to be democratic and transparent, expressing support for the Belarusian people in their quest for freedom.
