The Security Service of Ukraine has transferred one of the Sea Baby marine drones, which attacked Russian ships and the Crimean Bridge during the full-scale invasion, to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II.
This was reported by the SSU.
The drone belongs to the reusable class: after completing its tasks, it returns to base. This Sea Baby carried out several combat missions, traveling more than 4,000 kilometers across the Black Sea. In particular, in December 2024, it engaged in combat with Russian aircraft, was damaged, but completed its mission and returned. Due to the damage, the device can no longer be used for its intended purpose, so it was transferred to a museum.
As noted by Brigadier General Ivan Lukashevich of the SSU military counterintelligence, Sea Baby is a unique development that is ahead of its global counterparts in terms of technology and versatility. According to him, since 2022, these drones have evolved from experimental models to multi-purpose platforms capable of covering more than a thousand kilometers and carrying more than 1,000 kg of combat payload.
Museum director Yuriy Savchuk added that thanks to such drones, Russia is forced to hide its ships in Novorossiysk, and Ukraine was able to unblock the “grain corridor.”
Earlier, with the help of marine drones, the SSU blew up the Crimean bridge and hit 11 Russian warships. The latest Sea Baby models are equipped with large-caliber machine guns with automatic target acquisition systems, allowing them to engage Russian aircraft.
