Russian troops struck a warehouse of the UN World Food Programme in Dnipro with an Iskander ballistic missile. As a result of the attack, which took place on May 25, humanitarian aid intended for 130,000 people living near the front line was destroyed.
This was reported by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and the press service of the UN World Food Programme.
The warehouse contained food supplies worth more than $1.4 million. As a result of the strike, none of the WFP staff were injured.
Specialists are currently working at the site and assessing the scale of the destruction.
“This attack is yet another demonstration of Russia’s true attitude toward the UN and its member states, as well as blatant disregard for the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law,” Sybiha said.
Ukraine’s foreign minister also stressed that the strike came after recent discussions at the UN Security Council and calls from the international community to stop attacks on humanitarian missions. He urged UN Secretary-General António Guterres to use all possible mechanisms to force Russia to stop the strikes.
WFP representative in Ukraine Richard Ragan said that the warehouse in Dnipro had already come under attack for the second time. In November 2025, it was damaged by a Russian drone.
According to the organization, over the past 18 months more than 84 cases of damage to WFP warehouses, vehicles, and humanitarian aid distribution points have been recorded in Ukraine.
