        Ukraine and Bahrain may sign a Drone Deal: details of President Zelenskyy’s meeting with the King of Bahrain

        President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, during his visit to Manama. The sides discussed cooperation in security, defense and the development of bilateral relations.

        The Office of the President reported this. This was Zelenskyy’s first visit to Bahrain and the first meeting between the leaders of the two countries since 2003.

        During the talks, the sides discussed the security situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, including strikes from Iran against Bahrain and other countries, as well as the situation around the Strait of Hormuz.

        Zelenskyy briefed on the situation in Ukraine, diplomatic efforts to achieve peace and contacts with partner countries. He stated that Ukraine is ready for negotiations in a trilateral format.

        Particular attention was paid to cooperation in security and defense. Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine faces similar attacks almost daily and has experience of full-scale defense.

        The President said that Ukraine is ready to share its security expertise with Bahrain and help strengthen protection. He also proposed signing a Drone Deal and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

        The sides also discussed the development of economic relations, cooperation in agriculture, the opening of embassies and the possible introduction of a visa-free regime.
