Last night, Russia launched 420 drones and 39 missiles of various types, including 11 ballistic missiles, at Ukraine. Most of the missiles were shot down thanks to the fact that partners promptly transferred some of the missiles to Ukraine for air defense, as agreed during the last “Ramstein” meeting.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Destruction has been reported in eight regions. Many private and multi-story buildings have been damaged. As of now, dozens of people are known to have been injured in the attack, including children.
Gas infrastructure in the Poltava region, as well as power substations in the Kyiv and Dnipro regions, were targeted. Rescuers worked in the Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Kyiv regions, and in the capital.
“Most of the missiles launched today were shot down thanks to our partners quickly sending some of the missiles to the air defense forces, as agreed during the last Ramstein meeting,” Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, some hits were recorded. The president stressed that missiles for air defense are needed every day as long as Russia continues its attempts to destroy Ukraine’s energy sector.
