On May 6, Russian forces attacked Sumy with drones. Two strikes caused a fire in the kindergarten building, killing a woman.
This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Oleg Grigorov.
“The body of a woman was found at the site where Russian UAVs struck in Sumy. The victim was a security guard at the preschool. No children were present at the facility at the time,” the statement said.
According to police, two women are currently known to have been injured. Police evacuated the wounded and handed them over to medical personnel, and also helped other citizens leave the dangerous area.
Police investigative and operational teams, bomb disposal experts, rescue workers, and other specialized services are working at the scene.
