Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that negotiations to end the war are being constantly postponed due to the situation in the Middle East. According to him, the war in Iran is already affecting developments around Ukraine.

He said this in an interview with BBC after a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Zelensky noted that he has a “very bad feeling” about the impact of the Middle East conflict on the war in Ukraine.

According to him, peace negotiations are “constantly postponed,” and there is one reason — the war in Iran.

Zelensky also called on US President Donald Trump and Keir Starmer to meet and find a common position. He said he cannot tell Trump what to do, but believes it is important to “reload the relationship” between the leaders.

The interview took place amid escalating tensions following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, which triggered diplomatic friction among NATO allies. Zelensky warned that divisions among Western leaders could negatively affect support for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president also addressed the UK Parliament, where he said that the regimes in Russia and Iran are “brothers in hatred” and cooperate in the military sphere.
