Ukrainian forces carried out strikes on the Khalino airfield in Russia’s Kursk region. A fighter jet and an air defense system were hit.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
The operation was carried out by servicemen of the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade “Black Forest.” The strike hit a MiG-29 fighter jet and a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of the morning of July 21, Russia’s total combat losses in aircraft since February 24, 2022, were estimated at 438 units.
Thus, the number of destroyed Russian aircraft has now reached 439.
According to the General Staff, Russia has also lost 354 helicopters since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
