Dobropillia remains under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, while claims by the Russian Defense Ministry that the city has allegedly been encircled do not reflect the situation on the battlefield. Ukrainian troops say Russian assault groups are suffering losses before they even reach Ukrainian positions.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the “Center” group of forces had allegedly completed the encirclement of the defense hub in Dobropillia and was advancing toward Oleksandrivka. The Russian side also claimed that units of the 4th and 15th National Guard brigades and the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelia” had been surrounded.
Acting commander of the 1st National Guard Corps “Azov”, Mykyta Nadtochii, said that Dobropillia remains under the control of the corps and adjacent units.
“The enemy claims there is an encirclement, but its assaults end in losses before they even reach our positions,” Nadtochii said.
Vadym Krykun, commander of the 20th Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Liubart”, said the brigade continues to hold its defensive sector, repel Russian assaults and detect enemy groups attempting to infiltrate between Ukrainian positions.
The 14th Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Chervona Kalyna” also said that reports of Dobropillia being encircled or Russian forces breaking through toward Oleksandrivka have not been confirmed along the line of contact.
According to the brigade, over the past month Russian forces in its sector have lost up to 210 troops killed and up to 60 wounded, as well as about seven pieces of equipment.
Mykyta Plikhun, commander of the 4th National Guard Brigade “Rubizh”, said Ukrainian troops disrupt four to six attempts by Russian groups to approach the forward line every day. According to him, a significant number of assault groups are destroyed by strike drones before reaching Ukrainian positions.
The 1st National Guard Corps “Azov” stressed that Ukrainian units, together with adjacent forces, continue to hold their designated defensive lines in the Dobropillia sector.
