Fourteen people were injured and two others were killed in Zaporizhzhia as a result of overnight Russian attacks on Ukraine. Strikes and damage were reported in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, as well as at energy facilities in several parts of the country.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, Russian strikes hit residential buildings, among other targets. A kindergarten was damaged in Kyiv, a lyceum in the Kyiv region, and a university in Kharkiv.
Energy infrastructure in the Poltava, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions was also hit.
Zelenskyy stressed that Russian escalation is taking place every day and urged Ukraine’s partners to increase pressure on Moscow.
“If the Russians have chosen to make their strikes even more brutal, the world must choose stronger responses so that the war does not spread further,” the president said.
He separately called on US President Donald Trump to implement Lindsey Graham’s law targeting Russia and all those who financially support its war.
Zelenskyy also urged Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen to impose additional European sanctions.
In addition, the president called for Russian oligarchs to remain on existing sanctions lists and for further restrictions on any trade with Russia until it ends the war.
