        Ukraine’s General Staff names target of strike in Russia’s Penza region: Roscosmos-linked facility hit

        On the night of July 1, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a facility in Russia’s Penza region that is part of the Roscosmos structure — JSC Research Institute of Physical Measurements.

        Ukraine’s General Staff reported this.

        According to the General Staff, the strike was carried out as part of efforts to reduce Russia’s military and economic potential. A hit and smoke were recorded at the facility. The scale of the damage is being clarified.

        The General Staff said the site is a leading Russian enterprise in the field of space, aviation and military instrumentation. It is part of the Russian Space Systems holding, which belongs to the state corporation Roscosmos.

        The facility produces, among other things, sensors for Iskander, Kalibr and Kh-101 cruise and ballistic missiles. It also manufactures components for onboard systems of Su-34, Su-35 and Tu-95MS aircraft, as well as equipment for military space systems, including reconnaissance satellites.

        In addition to the facility in the Penza region, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of Russian logistical targets in temporarily occupied territories.

        These included a road bridge over the Malyi Kalchyk River near Hranitne in Donetsk region, a railway bridge over the Tepla River near Nyzhnioteple in Luhansk region, and a logistical crossing near Novoocheretuvate in Donetsk region.

        According to the General Staff, Russian forces used these sites to move personnel, weapons, ammunition and supplies.

        Ukraine also struck an enemy fuel and lubricants depot in Melitopol, as well as three logistics warehouses. They were located near Krupki in Russia’s Kursk region, Rivnopillia in Donetsk region and Novoyehorivka in Kharkiv region.

        Separately, the General Staff reported strikes on five Russian drone command posts. They were located near Hrozove and Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Udachne, Novooleksandrivka and Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.

        The General Staff stressed that Ukraine’s Defense Forces will continue systematic measures aimed at stopping Russia’s armed aggression.
