On August 24, Ukraine returned ten servicemen of the Armed Forces and the National Guard. All of them had defended the country in the Donetsk sector and had been considered missing.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian defenders were returned via Belarus as part of a special stage of the exchange.
“And it is very important that we managed to bring them back,” Zelenskyy noted.
The president thanked everyone working to return Ukrainians from captivity and stressed that efforts to free other prisoners are continuing.
“We remember every man and woman who remains in captivity. We are searching by every name. And we will do everything to free them and bring them home,” Zelenskyy said.
