Over the past week, Russian forces used 2,597 strike and decoy drones against Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized 2,282 UAVs, with the interception rate exceeding 87% over the seven-day period.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
Russia used Shahed-131/136/238, Parodiya and Gerbera drones.
The General Staff said Russian forces are constantly changing their drone tactics, using different routes and flight altitudes, combining strike UAVs with decoys and attempting to overwhelm Ukrainian air defenses with large numbers of simultaneous aerial threats.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare systems and unmanned systems operators are involved in neutralizing the drones.
The General Staff emphasized that even with a high interception rate, the aerial threat is not completely eliminated and urged civilians not to ignore air raid alerts or share information about air defense operations.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to strengthen the country’s layered air defense system and improve methods of detecting and neutralizing aerial targets.
