On the morning of October 24, Ukraine’s Defense Forces confirmed that Starlink and Starshield satellite communication systems had begun operating while moving at speeds exceeding 161 km/h. Defense Ministry specialists are assessing how fully the service has been restored and whether restrictions remain in place at higher speeds.
This was reported by ArmiyaInform, citing sources in Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian military personnel and Defense Ministry specialists have already confirmed that Starlink and Starshield are operational at speeds above 161 km/h.
“As of the morning of October 24, Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Ministry of Defense specialists have observed that Starlink/Starshield has begun operating at speeds exceeding 161 km/h,” the outlet’s sources said.
Specialists are continuing to monitor and test the systems at higher speeds. Their aim is to determine the maximum operating speed limits and establish the extent to which satellite communications have been restored.
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry monitoring systems are recording a restoration of Starlink/Starshield performance, Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara said.
“We are recording stable communications at speeds exceeding 400 km/h. This is another example of how direct dialogue and the Ukrainian president’s firm stance at the highest level deliver results. Above all, this outcome is important for our frontline forces, military personnel, drone operations, logistics and communications,” Khmara told reporters on Saturday.
He emphasized that the Defense Ministry continues to monitor and assess the performance of Starlink/Starshield.
