Ukraine has received confirmation from the United Kingdom regarding the production of long-range SCALP missiles, while France has unblocked the licensing issue. Partners have also approved new deliveries of air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a meeting with media representatives alongside Estonian President Alar Karis.
Zelenskyy said he had previously discussed the issue with French President Emmanuel Macron.
“He confirmed that the SCALP issue and the licenses had been unblocked. We will act. I consider this a major positive development and a strong decision”, the Ukrainian president said.
Zelenskyy also said that a schedule for work on FREYJA should be prepared within seven to ten days. It will outline meetings and identify problems blocking cooperation with companies from different countries.
“Everyone is taking this very seriously, and we will work to unblock everything”, Zelenskyy stressed.
Norway has confirmed $9 billion in funding for Ukraine in 2027. According to the president, Oslo may also help finance the development of the FREYJA office.
Ukraine has also received confirmation regarding the delivery of several Crotale air defense systems and missiles for them. Partners will additionally provide AIM missiles, which Ukrainian forces use to intercept Russian missiles.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine had already received a small additional batch of Patriot interceptor missiles and thanked the country’s partners for their support.
