President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is attempting to block Ukraine’s maritime corridor in the Black Sea, but there is currently no complete blockade. Three to four vessels enter and leave Odesa every day.
Zelenskyy said this while speaking to journalists following a meeting with leaders of the Coalition of the Willing in Kyiv.
According to him, before Russia began attempting to block the maritime corridor, shipping volumes were three to four times higher than they are now.
“There is no total blockade today, there is an attempt, but three to four ships a day enter and leave Odesa, despite the fact that the Russians are striking port infrastructure,” the president said.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is considering several options to ensure the continued operation of the maritime corridor. Several countries are expected to be involved in these efforts.
Among the possible steps, the president mentioned a negotiating track with Russia, as well as strengthening air defenses to protect the grain corridor.
During the Coalition of the Willing meeting, the parties also discussed continued support for Ukraine and further steps to protect the country from Russian aggression.
