By the end of January 2025, one of the Ukrainian airports should resume its work, and it is expected that five or six airlines will agree to fly from Ukraine.
This was announced by Crispin Ellison, senior partner at risk management consultancy Marsh McLennan, during the Kiev International Economic Forum, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to Ellison, President Volodymyr Zelensky wants Boryspil airport near Kiev to be the first to work, but it would be easier for aviation insurance to secure a launch in Lviv.
Ellison said, “The President may not be happy with my words as he is focused on Boryspil, but our priority option is Lviv. It is only a seven-minute flight to Poland.” He also noted that Lviv is safer than Tel Aviv.
The final decision will depend on the Office of the President of Ukraine and will take into account the overall security situation.
