As a result of missile strikes on energy infrastructure in Kharkiv, the capacity of one of the city’s heat supply facilities has been significantly reduced. The supply of heat and hot water to homes has been restricted.

This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council.

Work is currently underway to determine the extent of damage to the equipment and further steps for its restoration. The supply of hot water to some consumers in the Kholodnogorsk, Novobavarsk, Shevchenkivsk and Kyiv districts has been suspended.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on the strike on the thermal power plant today.

‘The enemy launched a series of targeted strikes on the thermal power plant in the nearest suburbs of Kharkiv. This led to a significant drop in voltage in the city, which directly affected the heat supply and the operation of public transport,’ Terekhov wrote.

According to the Kharkiv Heat Networks utility company, specialists are switching to autonomous heat supply sources where technically possible. The temperature of the heat carrier has also been reduced for residents of these areas. As explained by the utility companies, this step is necessary to ensure water circulation in the system and prevent the networks from freezing. Once the extent of the damage has been determined, emergency crews will begin restoration work.
