Ukrainian security services have detained two men suspected of carrying out a terrorist attack on a local prosecutor in the city of Dnipro. According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police, the suspects are believed to be agents of Russian intelligence, recruited through anonymous Telegram channels.

The incident took place on 6 June, when an improvised explosive device was planted under the prosecutor’s car. The explosion caused minor injuries to the official, but doctors say his life is not in danger. The vehicle was completely destroyed.
Investigators say the men had been instructed to monitor the victim’s daily routine and routes before planting the device and documenting the aftermath of the blast. Both suspects are reportedly cooperating with authorities and have identified their Russian handler.
They have been formally charged under Article 258(2) of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which covers terrorist acts committed by a group in prior conspiracy. If convicted, they face up to 12 years in prison.
The case is being handled by the SBU’s Dnipropetrovsk regional office under the supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
Russia has not commented on the allegations.
