On the night of July 31, explosions were heard in Volgograd, Kazan, Zelenodolsk, Nizhnekamsk and Kaspiysk. The Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery, the TANECO and TAIF-NK plants, two Wildberries logistics centres and the area of the seaport in Dagestan may have come under attack.
This was reported by the Astra Telegram channel, citing the results of an OSINT analysis.
Volgograd Region Governor Andrey Bocharov said that several houses were damaged in the attack. Fires broke out at an industrial fuel and energy facility in the south of the city and at warehouses in the Dzerzhinsky district. Five injured people were hospitalised, while efforts to extinguish the fires are continuing.
According to preliminary information, one of the facilities targeted was a Wildberries logistics centre covering more than 48,000 square metres.
Wildberries said that people had been evacuated, that no employees were preliminarily reported injured, and that the receipt and dispatch of goods had been moved to other facilities.
In addition, local residents reported a possible attack on the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery. At the time of publication, there was no official confirmation that the plant itself had been hit.
In the morning, residents of Kazan and its outskirts also heard explosions. According to preliminary information, another Wildberries logistics centre in the Zelenodolsk district of Tatarstan came under attack, and smoke was seen above the building afterwards.
In Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, local residents reported more than 30 explosions and intense flaring at one of the oil refineries. It is currently unclear whether this was caused by the drone attack or was a routine technological process; the TANECO and TAIF-NK plants are located in the same industrial zone of the city.
Residents of Kaspiysk in Dagestan also reported a drone attack. There is currently no information about the consequences or possible damage there.
