The preliminary agreement with Russia stipulates that prisoner exchanges will become systematic this year. The return of the seriously wounded and seriously ill is a priority.
This was stated by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
“I don’t want it to sound like an announcement now – we will see if the Russian side keeps its word. If so, Ukrainian society will see this consistency in terms of number, timing and categories”, – the ombudsman said.
According to Lubinets, it was also previously agreed that each Ukrainian prisoner of war and civilian hostage will receive a package of belongings from Ukraine with the help of the ICRC.
