President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a number of important meetings on January 7, including preparations for the Ramstein meeting and Ukraine’s integration into the European Union.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his evening video address.
According to Zelenskyy, at a meeting with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, they discussed available assistance packages and Ukraine’s needs, as well as preparations for the next meeting in the Ramstein format. The Foreign Intelligence Service reported on current issues and prospects.
They also discussed the details of the negotiation process with the European Union. The meeting was attended by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, government officials, and representatives of the President’s Office. Zelenskyy emphasized that this year should be as productive as possible for Ukraine on its path to EU membership.
“This year, Poland holds the EU presidency, and Denmark holds the presidency in the second half of the year. They are very responsible partners. From the Ukrainian side, we will provide everything necessary to make the right steps”, – the President said.
In addition, the President had a conversation with the President of Switzerland. They discussed further cooperation to achieve peace, including the organization of the first Peace Summit and communication with key partners. Zelenskyy noted that Switzerland was ready to support Ukraine politically and organizationally and announced a future bilateral meeting.
