The SBU detained FSB agents who spied on well-known volunteers and officials of international organizations in Ukraine. The special service neutralized an agent network that collected information about people in Kyiv, Dnipro and Odesa.

“To establish the addresses, license plates and routes of these individuals, the Russian special service remotely recruited a Kyiv lawyer. He involved several accomplices from three regions of Ukraine in criminal activities,” the SBU said.

The spies used optical devices and set up “observation posts” with binoculars on the roofs of houses opposite the offices of officials of international organizations and volunteers.

During the arrest of the group’s leader and his accomplices in Kyiv, 15 cell phones, optics and flash drives with evidence of crimes were seized.

In addition to gathering intelligence, the suspects also adjusted missile strikes on strategic targets in Ukraine.

The detainees are suspected of high treason committed during martial law. They are in custody and face life imprisonment.
