Three more children have been returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territories under the presidential program Bring Kids Back UA.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
In one of the cases, a woman was separated from her two sons – the children remained in the temporarily occupied territory in Donetsk region with their biological father.
“She was unable to get her children back on her own, so she turned to our office. We managed to help her: the children were evacuated from the occupied territory and reunited with their mother. Today this family is together and safe”, – said Lubinets.
The second case is the return from the TOT of a 17-year-old boy who supported Ukraine in the occupied territory. Because of this, he was persecuted by the occupation authorities.
“Interrogations, threats, and intimidation became commonplace for the boy. Eventually, he turned to us and now he is safe, receives humanitarian and material support, as well as assistance in processing documents”, – the Ombudsman wrote.
Upon completion of all formalities, the boy will start studying at a Ukrainian educational institution.
