On the night of December 10, in front of the Georgian parliament, activists continued their protests by burning a symbolic coffin with the image of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the leader of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
This was not the first such protest gesture: earlier, flags of the ruling party and effigies of Ivanishvili were burned during demonstrations.
According to Echo of the Caucasus, the rallies on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi ended peacefully on December 9-10.
The protests in Tbilisi began on November 28 after the Georgian authorities announced that they were abandoning negotiations on joining the European Union by the end of 2028. Demonstrators gather daily near the parliament in Tbilisi.
