Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the Russian advance, preventing the invaders from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary as of 16:00 on 11 May.
Throughout the day, 67 combat clashes were recorded. Russian troops continue to shell Ukrainian settlements. Communities in the Chernihiv region – Bleshnya, Senkivka, Lisivshchyna, Tymonovychi – as well as in the Sumy region – Stara Huta, Velyka Pysarivka, Klyusi, Studenok, Maryne, Velyka Berezka, Vasylivka, Porozok, Slavhorod, Stepok – were hit by artillery and mortar fire.
In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled an attack near Vovchansk. In the Lyman direction, the enemy attempted six times to break through the defences in the areas of Hrekivka, Novoye, Ridkodub, Kolodyaziv and in the direction of Hryhorivka, with four more battles ongoing.
In the Siverskyi direction, fighting took place near Bilohorivka – two attacks were repelled, and one battle continues. In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three assaults in the areas of Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, and Andriivka, with another clash ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled five attacks near Ozarianivka, Diliivka and Toretsk. In the Pokrovsk direction, 36 enemy assault attempts were recorded, 27 of which have already been repelled. Fighting continues near Stara Mykolaivka, Vodyane Druhe, Nova Poltavka, Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyarivka, Troitske, Andriivka, and Bahatyr.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked twice in the areas of Kostyantynopil and Novopil. In the Orikhiv direction, five attacks were repelled near Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, and Mali Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, Russian forces carried out one unsuccessful attack. In the Kursk direction, four combat clashes were recorded, two of which are still ongoing. The enemy also carried out four air strikes using guided air bombs and 134 artillery strikes, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.
The situation in other directions has not changed significantly.
