Death toll from floods in Spain rises to 140

Severe floods in Spain have already killed 140 people.

This was reported by the Spanish news agency EFE.

The largest number of deaths occurred in Valencia, which suffered the most from the natural disaster, while the rest of the victims were found in the autonomous communities of Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia.

Emergency services in Spain continue to clear the rubble in search of missing persons. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez personally visited Valencia to inspect the rescue efforts.

The Spanish army’s emergency response unit has focused its efforts on searching for missing persons in the affected areas with the help of dogs and has started providing psychological assistance.

Spain’s General Directorate of Traffic is asking people not to travel to Valencia, as many roads in the area are not allowed for traffic.

In addition, a new warning from the Es-Alert public alert system via mobile phones reminds residents to avoid traveling on the roads to allow emergency responders to work.
