On the night of September 6, drones attacked Russia’s Ryazan region, home to one of the country’s largest oil refineries. According to ASTRA, the Ryazan refinery was the target of the attack.

Local Telegram channels reported loud explosions that woke residents of Ryazan during the night.
Regional Governor Pavel Malkov confirmed the drone attack. According to him, drone debris damaged a residential building in Ryazan and in the Sapozhkovsky district, while a fire broke out at one of the industrial facilities.
According to preliminary information from the Russian side, there were no casualties.
The Ryazan oil refinery is part of Rosneft and is one of the largest refineries in Russia. Its capacity is about 17 million tonnes of crude oil per year.
The facility produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, liquefied gases, bitumen and petrochemical feedstocks.
According to ASTRA, the Ryazan refinery was previously attacked in May and July 2026.
