More than 51% of Russia’s oil refining capacity has been disabled as a result of long-range strikes by Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces. The Defense Ministry said such operations are aimed at weakening Russia’s military-economic potential and its ability to supply its troops.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

According to Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara, intelligence services, analysts from the General Staff and the Defense Ministry assessed the impact of recent long-range strikes.

“More than half of the enemy’s capacity has been disabled. This is the result of carefully planned, systematic and consistent actions aimed at bleeding the Russian war machine and destroying its military-economic potential,” Khmara said.

The Defense Ministry noted that the facilities recently hit included the Moscow, Yaroslavl, KINEF, Ust-Luga, Perm, Ilsky, Saratov, Syzran and other oil refineries.

According to the minister, the effect of such operations accumulates over time and is not always immediately visible.

“51% of oil refining capacity hit is a significant blow to the enemy’s economy, to its ability to wage aggression and supply its troop formations. Our deep strikes continue to bring the war onto Russian territory,” Khmara added.

Long-range strike drones, which make it possible to hit targets deep inside Russia, remain one of the Defense Ministry’s priorities.

The ministry said that production and procurement of such drones have tripled this year.

The Defense Ministry stressed that it plans to further scale up deep-strike capabilities and systematically deprive Russia of the resources needed to wage war.
