Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had received a detailed briefing from the head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Luhovskyi, regarding the economic situation in Russia.

According to the president, the Russian economy is approaching a crisis due to the mistakes and miscalculations of the country’s leadership.

“The only person whose decision is needed is the Russian leader. A leader who does not even receive all the statistics about what is really happening,” Zelenskyy said.

He stated that Ukraine has proposed all possible formats for genuine negotiations, security guarantees, and the achievement of a just peace, but that the decision to end the war depends on Russia’s leadership.

The president also said that Ukrainian intelligence has detected Russian efforts to find ways around economic restrictions.

According to Zelenskyy, Moscow is attempting to use certain Japanese, European, and American companies for that purpose. He added that Central Asian countries also play an important role in Russia’s calculations.

The president stressed that Ukraine is aware of such activities and knows how to counter them.
