In his evening address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that last night the Russian army launched a large-scale combined attack on the gas infrastructure, firing 35 missiles, including ballistic missiles. Only half of the enemy missiles were shot down by air defense forces.
The Head of State emphasized that the attack took place on the eve of the heating season and was aimed at inflicting more damage on Ukrainians.
“Today was another Russian strike on our gas infrastructure: just before the heating season, Russians are looking for ways to inflict more harm on our people,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the situation remains difficult in Chernihiv region after drone strikes on Slavutych, Nizhyn and Chernihiv itself, as well as in Sumy region. In the evening, a ballistic missile strike was recorded on the energy infrastructure of Donetsk region – restoration work is underway in Kramatorsk, Sloviansk and Druzhkivka.
The President thanked all those who promptly assisted the victims and restored power supply.
