Apple is considering a deep red as the new flagship color for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max lineup, Bloomberg reports, citing sources familiar with the company’s plans.

According to the report, following the success of the Cosmic Orange shade in the iPhone 17 Pro series — particularly strong in the Chinese market — Apple is testing a new rich red version for its next-generation flagship models. The company may keep the orange option as well, though the two shades could be too close on the color spectrum.

There have also been rumors about purple and brown variants, but Bloomberg suggests these are likely variations of the same red concept.

As for the foldable iPhone Fold, Apple is reportedly planning to avoid bright colors. Instead, the company is considering more restrained, utilitarian tones — dark gray or black, as well as white or light silver. This approach echoes the early generations of the iPhone, which featured a more minimalist color palette.

The final color lineup is expected to be unveiled in the fall.
