Customs officers at the Hrushev–Budomierz checkpoint found undeclared Apple devices with an estimated value of UAH 2.4 million. A total of 41 devices were being transported in a specially built hiding place.
This was reported by the State Customs Service and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The bus arrived to enter Ukraine on September 24. Its 52-year-old driver, a resident of Lviv region, declared only personal belongings.
During the inspection, Lviv customs officers together with border guards found 41 Apple devices in the hiding place.
The shipment included five iPads, 34 iPhones and two Apple Watch Ultra devices. The estimated value of the goods is UAH 2.4 million.
Customs officers drew up a report under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
“According to the driver, he received the devices from a courier in Warsaw and was supposed to deliver them to Lviv,” border guards said.
The State Border Guard Service clarified that the devices were seized and transferred to a customs warehouse.
