President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Kyiv has received signals from some world leaders to lower the mobilization age. However, according to him, Ukraine is focused on preserving the lives of young people and developing the technological capabilities of the army.

In an interview with the French newspaper Le Parisien, Zelenskyy noted that modern warfare is not limited to trenches and assault rifles, but requires modern weapons, drones, artillery and aviation. “Reducing the mobilization age is, you know, a kind of political game,” the president emphasized.

Although younger people are physically stronger and more resilient, Zelenskyy emphasized that the army’s technological capabilities are a priority, as modern warfare is a battle of innovation.

In addition, the head of state spoke about his numerous appeals to the United States to grant Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot systems to protect Ukrainian skies from Russian air attacks.

“And no one seems to mind, no one has ever said to me: we will not give you (a license). But so far we have not received anything,” Zelensky said.
