President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the situation on the frontline remains tense, especially in the Pokrovsk sector, where the fiercest fighting continues. The Head of State said this in his video address on 4 January after a detailed report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
‘The occupier continues to spend an insane number of its people in assaults. And I thank each of our units, all our brigades that defend Ukrainian positions and ensure the destruction of the occupier,’ Zelenskyy said.
According to him, fierce fighting also continues in the Kursk region. Only in the area of the village of Makhnovka, the Russian army lost up to an infantry battalion, which included North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers, in two days.
‘And it is noticeable,’ the president stressed, thanking the military for their successful actions in all areas.
