Russian special services planned to commit a terrorist attack against the Ukrainian military in Kyiv region. To realize this plan, the Russians engaged a teenager who was going to be blown up with homemade explosives.
This was reported to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SBU.
As a result of the special operation, four members of the Russian agent network were detained who were preparing to detonate explosives at the entrance to the building where one of the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces is located.
The teenager who was used to deliver the explosives was dressed in a Ukrainian military uniform and was supposed to bring the explosives in a tactical backpack.
The Russian occupiers tracked his movements online and planned to detonate the explosives as soon as he entered the building. However, the boy did not know that he would also become a victim of the explosion – he believed that the explosion would occur only after he left the building.
“The SBU CI exposed the enemy’s plans in advance and took a set of measures to prevent the terrorist attack. As a result, a minor terrorist and 3 other agents involved in the planning of this crime were detained,” the SBU said.
The defendants were served a notice of suspicion under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular for high treason and illegal handling of explosives. They face life imprisonment.
