Ukraine’s Security Service, together with the Defence Forces, struck a number of military and infrastructure facilities in the Novorossiysk area of Russia’s Krasnodar region overnight on September 9. The targets included a naval base, Black Sea Fleet ships and oil infrastructure facilities.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center acted jointly with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Ukrainian Navy, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service.
According to the SBU, the attack hit:
- the Novorossiysk naval base and military harbour facilities;
- a number of Russian Black Sea Fleet ships capable of carrying Kalibr cruise missiles;
- fuel oil storage facilities;
- infrastructure at the Sheskharis terminal used for oil loading.
Fires were recorded at the naval base and the fuel oil terminal. Explosions were also confirmed in areas where the ships are based.
