In the Toretsk sector, Russian occupants have changed their tactics of assaults, involving more numerous infantry groups.
This was reported by Yevhen Alkhimov, a spokesman for the 28th Mechanised Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on Suspilne TV channel.
He said that while earlier the assaults were carried out in small groups, now up to 20 occupants are taking part in battles at the same time in certain areas of the front.
‘Russian attacks are repeated several times a day. During the assaults, the enemy actively uses drones for reconnaissance and fire adjustment. At the same time, armoured vehicles are not directly involved in the attacks,’ Alkhimov said.
According to him, the vehicles are used to transport infantry closer to Ukrainian positions.
‘There have been attempts to attack with the use of armoured vehicles, but their role is to bring manpower to the assault site as quickly as possible,’ the spokesman explained.
