In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he held a meeting with Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), during which they discussed the results of the agency’s recent operations and future plans.

“I approved some plans for the Service — our asymmetric responses to Russia’s war,” – Zelenskyy stated.

The President also commended the fighters of the SBU’s “A” Special Operations Center, who are fighting on the frontlines alongside other components of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, particularly in the Pokrovsk sector and nearby areas.

Zelenskyy also held a nearly hour-long briefing with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, during which they discussed the situation across all frontlines, brigade training, and logistical support.

Special attention was paid to the Dobropillia counteroffensive, where, according to the President, Russian forces have lost more than 12,000 troops, including over 7,200 irrecoverable losses, since the start of the operation on August 21.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Ukrainian defenders holding positions in Kupiansk and on the Novopavlivka front, noting that active defensive operations continue there with “solid results.”

The President emphasized that Ukraine continues to strengthen its defense capabilities and is preparing new, unconventional measures in response to Russian aggression.
