Large fires broke out overnight on July 22 at warehouse complexes in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk in Russia’s Stavropol region.
According to ASTRA, the facilities were logistics centres operated by Russian online marketplace Wildberries, whose staff were evacuated.
Witnesses reported numerous explosions and posted footage showing several fires on the outskirts of Krasnodar. An ASTRA OSINT analyst geolocated the footage and concluded that the blaze had broken out at the Wildberries logistics centre on Tikhoretskaya Street.
The company confirmed that the Krasnodar facility had been evacuated in accordance with safety procedures. Russian authorities said the warehouse complex caught fire after drone debris fell on the site.
Two apartment buildings were also damaged in Krasnodar during the attack. In the nearby village of Dinskaya, drone fragments struck two private homes.
Another major warehouse complex caught fire on the outskirts of Nevinnomyssk. Stavropol Governor Vladimir Vladimirov reported that two people were injured, adding that their lives were not in danger. Wildberries also announced the evacuation of its logistics centre in the city.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the northern industrial zone of Armavir in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Local authorities said the facility was attacked by 16 drones and that the fire covered an area of about 800 square metres.
The Ukrainian side had not officially commented on the strikes at the time of publication.
Previous attacks on Wildberries warehouses
This was the second series of attacks on major Wildberries logistics centres within several days. Overnight on July 18, drones struck the company’s facilities in Kotovsk in Russia’s Tambov region and Elektrostal near Moscow.
According to Russian authorities and the company, a total of eight employees were killed and more than 80 people were injured in those attacks. Large fires broke out at both facilities, disrupting their operations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later reported successful strikes on logistics facilities in the Moscow and Tambov regions. According to him, the centres were used to supply sanctioned components for drone production and navigation equipment.
Wildberries said it was carrying out recovery work and providing support to employees and partners affected by the attacks.
